Which set of fractions is larger 1/2 + 1/6 or 1/4 + 7/12.


explanation:


1/2 is equal to 30minutes.
1/6 is equal to 10 minutes.

add them.The answer is 40 min.

1/4 is equal to 15 minutes.
7/12 is equal to 35 minutes.
add them.the answer is 50 min.

I calculated the Km positions at a twelfth, sixth and a third by dividing it to 60.

example:

60/12 equals 5,then we draw a line on every
fifth end of the line.

its the same as the other numbers.

60/6 equals 10
60/3 equals 20

the patterns are:
if five is the answer you add always add 5
5+5 equals 10+5 equals 15.....
if its 10, 10+10 equals 20+10 equals 30.....
if its 20,20+20 equals 40....
