Which set of fractions is larger 1/2 + 1/6 or 1/4 + 7/12 ?

1/2 of 60 minutes = 30 minutes and 1/6 of 60 minutes = 10 minutes. So if you add those together it = 40 minutes.

1/4 of 60 minutes = 15 minutes and 7/12 of 60 minutes = 35 minutes. So if you add them together you get 50 minutes.

1/4 + 7/12 is LARGER!

7. for twelve six and three i used the clock method because the race is 60 km and i just divided twelve by sixty and same with all the others.
8. N divided by 4 multiplied by 3, another way is N divided by 3 multiplied by 4.

9. What set of fractions are bigger 1/2 + 1/4 or 1/3 + 1/4?
