SURFACE AREAS:

Surface Area- is the sum of all the areas of all the shapes that cover the surface of an object.

RECTANGULAR PRISM
This is how a rectangular prism is labelled:

The Net:

SOLVING FOR THE SURFACE AREA:Rectangular Prism
FORMULA:SA= 2(lxw)+2(hxl)+2(hxw)
*when writng the final answer for surface area the measuring unit is in squared
Example:

CUBE
a cube has 6 equal sides
The Net:

FINDING FOR THE SURFACE AREA:Cube
-since a cube has 6 equal sides its easier to solve for its surafce area
FORMULA:SA=area of a side x 6
(s squared)*s stands for:side
*I multiplied it by 6 because a cube has 6 equal sides
Example:

VOLUMES
Volume- is the number of cubes needed to fill in the shape.
SOLVING FOR THE VOLUME OF A CUBE:

FORMULA: V=l x w x h
or V= area of the base x h
Example:

FINDING THE VOLUME FOR RECTANGULAR PRISM
*finding for its volume is the same with the cube.
FORMULA: V=l x w x h
or V=area of the base x h
Example:
