I picked 3/4 and 2/12. To determin whats the sum of these fractions using the clock you have to make the sum out of 60, since there is 60 minutes in an hour. So, To get 3/4s of 60 you have to divide 60 by fourths, since most of the clocks have those dots on all four sides you dont have to cut it. Then if you count by 5s up to the number 9 in the clock you will get 45 (9 x 5 = 45). so 3/4s of 60 is 45. Then for 2/12 you dont have to cut the clock since its already into 12 equal peices. then count by 5s again up to 2 and you will get 10 (5 x 2 = 10). so, 10 + 45 equals 55. then if you make the answer into a fraction you have to make it into 55/60.

i chose the 1/6 + 1/4 + 7/12....clock method is a good model for adding fractions...for me adding fractions is easy because i did it before....but i prefer LCD because its good...but we must use clock when adding fractions of time...1/6 is about 10 minutes... and we are going to add 1/4 of an hour which means 1/4 times one hour or 60 minutes so we already have twenty five minutes [(1/6 x 1 hour/60 minutes)+(1/4 x 1 hour/60 minutes)] and we are going to add 7/12 of 1 hour/60 minutes...so we got 25 minutes + (7/12 of an hour)...60 divided by 12 is 5, so if there is 12 hours in a clock...lets pretend that the whole clock is moving by 1 hour and the 12 numbers are about 5 minutes, so if 12 is 1 hour, and 7 is the p[art of the whole, we will multiply 7 and 5 minutes like counting numbers of a clock buy 5 minutes and then we are going to stop in the number 7 we are going to count until we reach number 7, 1 = 5 minutes, 2 = 10 minutes, 3 = 15 minutes, 4 = 20 minutes, 5 = 25 minutes, 6 = 30 minutes and 7 = 35 minutes,, so now we got the minutes below one hour. we 25 minutes of 1 hour/60 minutes + 35 minutes out of one hour/60 minutes (25/60 + 35/60). so we are going to add the numerators (25+35) which are the minutes and copy the denominator so the answer 60/60 or one hour...(25 minutes is equal to 10 minutes which is 1/6 of an hour and 15 minutes which is 1/4 on an hour..

i chose 1/6 + 1/2 .
To know how many minutes out of an hour 1/6 is, you have to divide 60 by 6 because there are 60 minutes in an hour. 60/6 = 10 minutes . For 1/2 you have to do the same thing. 60/2 = 30 minutes . when you put it together 30+10=40 and the answer is 40/60 or 4/6.

i pick 1/2 and 1/3. i pick these fractions because 1/2 = 30 minutes and 1/3 = to 20 minutes. so, this equals to 50 minutes because 30 + 20 = 50. also another way to say this fraction is 50/60 or 5/6.

clocks help us out with fractions, because it is a whole being divided into several pieces. or lets say, 60 devided into 12 sections of 5 minutes.
i chose to do 1/6 + 1/2. using the clock, 1/6 is like saying 60 divided into 6. which would be 10. since we're using clocks, the sum would have to be out of 60. so right now, we have 10 minutes. then, 1/2 of a clock would be 30 minutes, because it's like saying 60 divided by 2, so we end up with 30 minutes. 10 minutes + 30 minutes would equal 40 minutes. the fraction would be 40/60, which can be reduced to 4/6 or 2/3.

Clocks can be an easy way to show fractions. I chose 1/2 + 1/3. To get the sum you have to find half of the clock. Since theres 60 minutes in an hour you divide that by two so it'll be 60/2=30. So since it's thirty you find out what 1/3 of an hour is. so you have to divide 60 by 3 so it'll be 60/3=20. Once you know what 1/2 and 1/3 of an hour is, you just have to add them up. So you add 1/2=30 + 1/3=20 and you get 5/6=50.

i chose 1/2 + 1/4. To get the answer you divide the denominator to 60 mins just like 1/2 and the denominator is 2 and you divide it to 60 you will get 30x1= 30 so we have now 30 minutes and now we divide the 4 to 60 from 1/4 and you'll get 15, 15x1=15 then the answer from 1/2=30, 1/4=15 you add the answers 30+15=45 minutes

i chose 1/2+1/3. i chose this fraction because 1/2 is 30 minutes and 1/3 is 20 minutes so, the anwer will be 50 out of 60,but, there is another way of saying 50/60. it's 5/6 because you just have to simplify it.
