Which set of fractions is larger 1/2 + 1/6 or 1/4 + 7/12 ?













Which set of fractions is larger 1/2 + 1/6 or 1/4 + 7/12?
1/2 = 30mins (60 ÷ 2 = 30)
1/6 = 10mins (60 ÷ 6 = 10)
30 + 10 = 40mins






1/4 = 15mins (60 ÷ 4 = 15)
7/12 = 35mins (60 ÷ 12 = 5 x 7 = 35)
35 + 15 = 50mins






1/4 + 7/12 is bigger than 1/2 + 1/6.

7. I found the answers for the bikerace by using the clock method because in one hour there is 60 minutes and in the race there is 60 km

8. To get 1/4 and 3/4 of 16, is to divid 4 and multiply it by 3 and another way is 16 divided by 3 multiplied by 4.
