Describe what a Pythagorean Triple is and use your perfect square chart from 1 squared to 10 squared to find another one other than 3,4,5. (Note: You need a picture, not simply text.)

A Pythagorean Triple is a right triangle that uses a set of numbers (1,2,3 ... etc) that satisfy a2 + b2 = c2

1x1= 1
2x2= 4
3x3=9
4x4=16
5x5=25
6x6=36
7x7=49
8x8=64
9x9=81
10x10=100

Part 3
You've just picked up a ground ball at first place, and you have see the other team's player running towards third base. How far do you have to throw the ball to get it from first base to third base and throw the runner out?




To do this problem, the first thing I remembered after reading the problem is that you have throw the ball to get it from first base to third base, so then it would be half of the diamond then we know that its 90 ft. every base.
Then what we know now is that ;
a= 90² b=90² c=?

There are two people running 9 miles north and then 7 miles west. What is the shortest distance, to the nearest tenth of a mile, they must travel to return to their starting point?

The Pythegorean Triple is a right angle triangle that uses a set of numbers such as 1,2,3,etc. This set of numbers has to be a decimal, also this set of numbers has to satisfy a² + b² = c² For example, this set of numbers can be 3,4,5. Since 3² is equal to 9, 4² is equal to 16 and 5² is equal to 25. a² = 3 , b² = 4 , c² = 5²









Another example is 6²+8²=10².

Part 3: You're locked out of your house and the only open window is on the second floor, 25 feet above the ground. You need to borrow a ladder from one of your neighbors. There's a bush along the edge of the house, so you'll have to place the ladder 10 feet from the house. What length of ladder do you need to reach the window?

Part 4:

There is a building with a 12 ft high window. You want to use a ladder to go up to the window, and you decide to keep the ladder 5 ft away from the building to have a good slant. How long should the ladder be?

Part 1)
The Pythegorean Triple is a right angle triangle that uses a set of numbers such as 1,2,3,etc. This set of numbers has to be a decimal, also this set of numbers has to satisfy a² + b² = c² For example, this set of numbers can be 3,4,5. Here are some sets of numbers that works with the pythegorean theorem

-6² + 8² = 10²
-8² + 15² = 17²
-7² + 24² = 25²

If you put that in a diagram it would look like this..










You notice that C² is always the hypotinus. The hypotinus is the the line conecting 3² and 4² together, The vertical line and the horizontal line can be a² or b² usually, the vertical line is a² and the horizontal is b².

In another way you can prove that 3 squares make a triangle look at this diagram...

What i did here in my bubbleshare is first i wrote down the Pythegorean Theorem which is a² + b² = c²
Then i worked my way through to get the value of ?² on the first part all i had to do was add both of the numbers to get ?² which was c². The 2nd part was a little bit tricky because b² was missing so what i had to do was make the ?² by itself so i subtracted both sides and ended up with the answer.

Part3) Heres part three of my growing post, Sorry if the question is wrong but I got it out of my head, i kinda remember all the important stuff in WORKSHEET A

Problem: You are locked you of your house, the only way in is an open window on the second floor 25 feet above the ground. Youre going to borrow a ladder from one of your neighbours. There are bushes around house so you have to put the ladder 10 feet away from the wall. What length of the ladder do you need to get to the window.

You see, what i did here was i made the formula of getting the measure of the hypotenuse by adding 25² + 10² to get the hypotenuse. I got the answer by using the calculator.

Part 4)

There is a building on fire, in the building each floor is 5 meters high. There is a child stuck in the 5rd floor. You are in a fire truck and you are 2.5 meters away from the building. How long is the ladder your going to use to put on top of the fire truck if the fire truck is as tall as 1/2 of a floor?

Finding the missing side.

this talks about finding a side of a right triangle using the formula in Pythagorean theorem. the formula is a squared plus b squared is equal to c squared.

Examples:

To find the missing side, the formula is needed to be labeled exactly as the given. There are 2 ways to solve a problem like this.












This shows how the formula changed from the default one. This will help to solve other sides like the smaller leg (a), and longer leg (b).

PART1) A Pythagorean Triple is a right triangle that uses a set of numbers (1,2,3 ect..) that satisfy a2+b2=c2. a=3+b=4=c=5

Another example is 6squared+8squared=10 squared. To prove that:

6 squared = 36 plus 8 squared (which equals 64) = 100 (which is the same as 10 squared)
36+64=100

1x1=1

2x2=4

3x3=9

4x4=16

5x5=25

6x6=36

7x7=49

8x8=64

9x9=81

10x10=100

Part3) Worksheet B

Question:
You've just picked up a ground ball at first base, and you see the other team's player runnig towards thrid base. How far do you have to throw the ball to get it from first base to thrid base, and runner out? The answer is.....

First I drew the picture of the whole baseball field. We know we have to go to first base to third so I ignored the second base, which is seen above and we also know that home to first base and third base is 90 FT (they are the leg). So, we just have to find out what the hypotenuse is. This is how I solved it:

First write the theoream: a2 + b2 = c2, then you can do the rest of the work.

a2 = 90, b2 = 90 and c2 =?

90 squared + 90 squared = c2

90 squared = 8100

8100 + 8100 = c2

8100 + 1800 = 16200 = c2

square root of 16200 = c2 = c

square root of 16200 = 127.27 or 127.28 when you round.

and in fractions it = 11 6/23

PART4) My own question.

There was this waterslide that is 4m tall and the base of 6m. The water is 3m high and the water touches the base of the slide at the exact same level. If you were to slide down from the top of the slide and going down to the water, how many meters is it from the top of the slide to touching the water?

A Pythagorean Triple is right triangle that has three integers ( a = leg, b = leg, and c = hypotenuse) and uses a set of numbers (1,2,3..etc. - no decimal) that satisfy a² + b² = c². (you need to label it a, b, and c. you can tell which is the hypotenuse because it is always opposite the right angle.)
Example :5² + 12² = 13² (5:12:13) && 6² + 8² = 10² (6:8:10)

The merchants often fashioned tents out of a piece of cloth thrown over tent poles and then secured to the ground with stakes forming an isosceles triangle. How long would the cloth have to be so that the opening of the tent was 4 meters high and 3 meters wide?
